Mythology Summary

Vayu is the Vedic wind and the breath of life, present in the storm and in the lungs, the father of Hanuman and of Bhima. He is movement itself: what leaves the body last and what arrives first.

Modern Practice

Vayu is honoured in breath practice, at the opening of a window and before a journey. His practice is pranayama in its plainest form: notice the breath, then move.
