Mythology Summary

Tethys is the Titaness of the fresh water that feeds the world, wife of Oceanus and mother of the three thousand rivers. In the Iliad she nurses the young gods, and the sea itself is her descendant: nourishment before it becomes the deep.

Modern Practice

Tethys is called on for clean water, for nursing, and at the source of things. Her practice is the spring rather than the ocean: small water, given freely.
