Mythology Summary
Osiris is the Egyptian god of the dead, the murdered king reassembled by Isis and made ruler of the underworld. His death and return are the pattern of the inundation and the grain: what is cut down and buried comes back changed. He presides over the judgment of the dead in the Hall of Two Truths, where Anubis weighs the heart against Maat's feather.
Modern Practice
Osiris is called on for any passage through death or ending, for the reconstruction of something scattered, and for the justice of an honest accounting. Work with him at the dark of the moon, at Samhain, or at the beginning of a recovery.
