Flora is the Roman goddess of flowers and gardens, whose games the Floralia were celebrated with plays, beans and hares. She is the freshness of the year and the pleasure that comes with it, and she was given a public cult because the city wanted the season on its side.
Modern Practice
Flora is called on in spring, in a garden, at Beltane, and whenever something young needs tending rather than driving. Her practice is seasonal and generous: plant, water, cut flowers for the house, share them.
