Mythology Summary

Tlaloc is the Aztec rain and storm god who lives on the mountain tops with the tlaloque, giving the maize its water and taking children into his paradise. He is the rain in both of its aspects, and the same hand gives the harvest and the flood.

Modern Practice

Tlaloc is called on at the planting and at the start of the rains. His practice is the offering made at the water's edge, and the seed put in on time.
