Thalassa is the Greek personification of the sea itself, older than Poseidon and paired with Pontus, the salt water as a first principle rather than a kingdom. She is what the sea was before it had a king.
Modern Practice
Thalassa is honoured at the shore, without a temple. Her practice is the offering given to the water and taken by the tide, and the asking of nothing in particular.
