Mythology Summary

Baal, or Hadad, is the Canaanite storm god who rides the clouds, defeats the sea and death, and is killed and restored by Anat. He is the rain that makes the land live and the king who holds the throne, and his title simply means lord.

Modern Practice

Baal is called on for rain, for the fertility of land, and at the high places. His practice is the storm as provision: praise in the wet season and the first fruits of the field.
