Benefic in every chart: the lesser benefic, whose harm is indulgence rather than malice.
Reading
Shukra is saumya and the lesser benefic. Its affliction is read as pleasure that costs too much, not as injury; the classical warning about Venus is excess and entanglement, not cruelty. Together with Jupiter it forms the pair of natural benefics, and a chart's 'benefic aspect' means the aspect of one of these two (or of a strong unafflicted Mercury).

Shukra is Venus, the graha of love, marriage, beauty, art and the pleasures of the senses. It is the karaka of the 7th house and of the spouse, and therefore of marriage and partnership in every chart. Its 20 years are the longest period in the Vimshottari cycle and are read as the years in which what one loves, and who one loves, sets the shape of the life.
