Mythology Summary

Pachamama is the Andean earth mother who is present under every house and field and is honoured by giving her the first sip of every drink and the first of every harvest. She is not distant: she is the ground the offering is poured onto.

Modern Practice

Pachamama is honoured by tipping the first of a drink onto the ground, by the despacho offering and at the August month of the earth. Her practice is the offering made before you take.
