Mythology Summary

Ptah is the Egyptian god of craftsmen who creates by thinking with his heart and speaking with his tongue - the first creator in the tradition to work by word rather than by body. He is the patron of architects, sculptors and anyone who makes a thing to a plan.

Modern Practice

Ptah is called on at the beginning of a build or a commission, and by smiths and carvers. His practice is the drawing made before the making, and the offering is a well-finished piece.
