Use

A short-cycle dasha used for the closer timing of events, especially in the tradition of Lord Shiva's teaching as BPHS reports it: thirty-six years in eight periods of one to eight years.

Meaning

Yogini assigns the years to eight yoginis rather than to the nine grahas: Mangala 1, Pingala 2, Dhanya 3, Bhramari 4, Bhadrika 5, Ulka 6, Siddha 7 and Sankata 8, each born of a graha - the Moon, the Sun, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Saturn, Venus and Rahu in that order. The period in force is found by adding three to the number of the birth nakshatra and dividing by eight, the remainder giving the yogini.
