Meaning
Chara means movable, and the system gives the dasha to the signs, each with a duration reckoned from the position of its lord, so that the sequence is not a fixed cycle but is computed from the chart. It is the Jaimini answer to Vimshottari: the same life timed by the houses rather than by the planets.
