His character: an abstract glyph rather than a figure, printed in the Arbatel and assigned to gold, the metal of the Sun. The 1575 woodcut is the reference form; later redrawings differ in the strokes and in how much of the plate they reproduce.

Governs the 28 provinces of the Sun and administers solar interests: he prolongs life to six hundred years with perfect health, gives great wisdom and excellent familiar spirits, composes perfect medicines, converts any substance into the purest metal or into precious stones, bestows gold, and causes the bearer of his character to be honoured as a god by the kings of the whole world.
