Mythology Summary

Mani is the Norse moon who guides the months and counts the nights, chased in turn by the wolf Hati. He takes two children from the earth to carry the moon's light, which is where the marks on the moon come from.

Modern Practice

Mani is called on for timekeeping, for dream work, and for any labour done at night. His practice follows the lunar month: begin at the new moon and count.
