Meaning
The reflection of a degree across the equinoctial axis, which is also the point opposite its antiscion. Where the antiscion is a sympathy, the contra-antiscion is a friction: Lilly finds contra-antiscions to be of the nature of a square or an opposition. It carries the older doctrine of signs that hear each other, in which signs equally distant from the equinox are linked, the northern signs commanding and the southern obeying.
