Not an orb question. The aspect is partile when the two bodies are in the same degree and perfect at the moment of exactness; applying and separating describe the period on either side of that moment, within the aspect's orb.

Meaning
An aspect is applying when the faster body is moving towards exactness and separating when it has passed it. The tradition reads the two differently: an applying aspect is a thing still to come, and it is the stronger testimony because it has not yet spent itself; a separating aspect is a thing already done, and it weakens as it separates. This is why two charts with the same aspect by degree can say different things about timing.
