The character of the planet itself, drawn from the divine names over the numbers of Venus's seven-by-seven square. Venus's plate is the busiest of the seven: it prints four characters, of the planet, of the intelligence, of the spirit and of the intelligences, and the four are distinct characters rather than variants of one another.
Office
Engraved on a silver plate with Venus fortunate, the seal is held to procure concord, end strife, procure the love of women, conduce to conception, work against barrenness, dissolve enchantments, make peace between men and women, make animals and cattle fruitful, increase pigeons in a dove house, cure melancholy and make a traveller fortunate. With Venus unfortunate, formed on brass, it causes the contrary. The list is the longest in the chapter, which is itself a datum about what Venus was wanted for.
