Four pinnacles and up to four challenges, all from the birth date. The pinnacles are month plus day, day plus year, the first two pinnacles added, and month plus year, each reduced. The challenges are the differences rather than the sums: month minus day, day minus year, the difference between the first two challenges, and month minus year, all taken as positive numbers. The first pinnacle runs to the age given by 36 minus the life path, and the remaining three run about nine years each.
The arc of a life in four stages, each with a gift and a difficulty. The pinnacle is what the stage offers; the challenge is what has to be worked at for the offer to be taken. The fourth pinnacle is the long one and is usually the most telling, because it describes what the person is like once the other three have been lived through.
