Gandanta is the junction of a water sign and a fire sign: the last three degrees twenty minutes (the last navamsha) of Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces, and the first three degrees twenty minutes of Leo, Sagittarius or Aries. BPHS defines it by the last navamsha of the three water signs, and a graha, the lagna or the Moon in it is one of the classical evils at birth.
