Mythology Summary
Fulla is one of the Ásynjur and Frigg's closest attendant: Gylfaginning 36 says she wears her hair loose with a golden ribbon, carries Frigg's casket, looks after her shoes and knows all her secrets. The Old High German Second Merseburg Charm names Volla among the sisters around Frija, which is the only other early attestation and shows that a cognate figure was known outside Scandinavia. She has no story of her own in the Eddas.
Modern Practice
Fulla is called for the work of the trusted second — keeping a confidence, carrying another's burden, serving without needing to be seen. The practice is discretion: what is told to you is not yours to spend.
