Value
13
Derivation
א 1 + ח 8 + ד 4 = 13.
Meaning

Echad is the confession of unity, the last word of the Shema ('YHVH our God, YHVH is one'), and its 13 is the tradition's most quoted coincidence: ahavah, 'love', is also 13, so that the declaration of oneness and the command to love are one number. The Zohar and the Hasidic commentaries build on it that unity is love and that 'you shall love' is not a second commandment but the content of the first. The pair also totals 26, the value of the name itself.
