Powers (Potestates), or Dominations in the lists that give those; Agrippa's scale of ten gives Geburah the Seraphim. The caveat recorded on the intelligence of this sphere applies to the spirit as well.
Bet-Resh-Tzaddi-Bet-Aleph-Lamed, 2 + 200 + 90 + 2 + 1 + 30, summing to 325, the total of Mars's square. The cell holding 2 is touched three times, and the printed plate marks the three contacts with little bumps on the stroke — one of the few places where a sigil carries a note on its own drawing.
The spirit is Mars's malevolent face: the planet worked unfortunate, which Agrippa says casts the powerful down from dignity, causes discord, strife and hatred among men and beasts, drives away bees, pigeons and fish, blights mills and hunting, and brings barrenness. That is the office in the only sense the text gives it — the same sphere, turned toward ruin. The later use of Barzabel as a martial servitor to be commanded in operations of attack is a development of the modern grimoire revival, not of Agrippa.
