The Devil represents bondage—to addiction, materialism, fear, or shadow aspects of self. But look closely: the chains are loose. This bondage is chosen, maintained by belief in limitation. What do you let control you? What chains could you simply remove?

You stand in the Devil's hall, chains around your neck. Examine them. How heavy are they really? Try lifting them off. What happens? What part of you wants to keep them on?
