Upaketu is the fifth of the Sun-derived upagrahas: add 16 degrees 40 minutes to Indrachapa and the result is Upaketu, the flag - and adding one more sign to Upaketu returns the Sun's own longitude, which closes the chain. It is malefic and afflicts the bhava it occupies.
