Meaning

Ekadashi is the eleventh tithi, the day of the Ekadashi fast in both fortnights, and it belongs to Vishnu. It is the tithi most observed in ordinary Hindu practice, and in the panchanga it is read through the story of its twenty-four named forms, one for each Ekadashi of the year.
