A debilitated graha is cancelled when any of the classical conditions holds: the lord of the sign of its debilitation is in a kendra from the lagna or from the Moon; the lord of its exaltation sign is in a kendra; the graha that is exalted in the sign it occupies is in a kendra; it is conjoined with or aspected by its dispositor; or it occupies its own navamsha.
The debilitation turns into strength: the native rises from a low or obstructed start to eminence, and the classical reading is that such a person is more formidable than one born strong, because the weakness has been worked through.
Neecha bhanga is the tradition's answer to a debilitated planet: the fall is not final if the graha's own dispositor or its exaltation lord supports it. The combination is called a raja yoga in the later texts because the rise it gives is from below rather than from above.
