A note on this entry One of the four elemental kings — with Paralda (air, east), Djin (fire, south) and Nicksa (water, west) — the named rulers of the gnomes, sylphs, salamanders and undines of the Paracelsian four-element tradition as later ceremonial handbooks developed it. These are not the four Enochian kings of angels_demons.json: Bataivh (air, east), Edlprnaa (fire, south), Raagiosl (water, west) and Iczhihal (earth, north) are the kings of Dee's four Watchtowers and belong to a different system, and although the two sets share the same four element-direction seats they share no names, texts or ritual. The name is spelt Ghob or Gob; elements.json gives him as the ruler of the gnomes. No early source fixes the set of four names, and the appearance is a stock icon rather than a description.
Alternate Names Gob
Rank Elemental king Appearance The gnome king: a small, stocky, bearded figure of earth, heavy and close to the ground, sometimes shown as an ancient man rather than a dwarf. The portraits are conventional illustrations of a type, and no early text fixes his form.
Office King of the gnomes and ruler of earth in the north: the mineral kingdom, mines and buried treasure, foundations, boundaries and land, the frame of the body, and the dead beneath the earth.
