A note on this entry Source: S. Liddell MacGregor Mathers, The Key of Solomon the King (1888), Book II ch. 18, Plate XII fig. 53; Peterson's e-text (esotericarchives.com) lists the same sequence. The 1-44 number follows the edition's own 'Order of the Pentacles' (Saturn first: 7+7+7+7+5+5+6); later books reorder (Mastros 2023 counts from the Moon), and the pentacle's own name is its per-planet ordinal. The only pentacle in the set that explicitly covers summoning the souls of the departed from Hades; Mathers also gives the names Abdon and Dalé against night phantoms. Verse: Ps 68:1. Where a Psalm is cited, the numbering is Mathers' English (KJV); the Hebrew numbering is lower.
Number 43 Purpose Gives answers in sleep; its angel Iachadiel serves destruction and loss, and may be called on against phantoms of the night and to summon the souls of the departed.
