Elemental Truth

She knows things before she can say them and this has complicated her relationships with people who need the knowing to come with reasons. She is right more often than she can explain, which is a specific kind of loneliness. She has learned to present intuition as observation, to slow down her knowing to the speed of demonstration. This exhausts her. She sometimes wishes she could just say: I know. Trust me. She almost never says this. She has been wrong before in ways that cost her the trust she was asking for.

Core Memories

Knowing a relationship was over three months before it was over, and saying nothing, and watching it end. Being told by someone that she was wrong about them, in a way that felt like truth, and the three years it took to understand she hadn't been. A moment of being completely known by someone who said it in one sentence.

Elan is the kind of presence that makes rooms feel deeper — not quieter, but more dimensional, as though there are more layers in the air than there were before she arrived. She is average height and soft in her bearing, with the quality of someone who has learned to move as though not disturbing the surface. Her skin is pale in a way that looks luminous in low light — the specific pallor of someone who spends time in the half-dark, who has learned to see without full illumination. Her hair is the color of deep water — a dark ash-blue in certain light, near-black in others — worn loose and slightly wavy, long past her shoulders. Her eyes are grey with depth: not dark grey but the kind of grey that changes with the light behind them, that in certain angles is nearly blue. They have the quality of looking slightly inward even when looking outward. She sits in ways that create space — open posture without being arranged, comfortable in her body without drawing attention to it.
